1. Staff Accountant

THE ROLE

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Senior Accountant and will be responsible for producing financials for both development and operating entities.  Specific to this role, the Staff Accountant will:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements on a timely basis by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various departments.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining accurate records and files; prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Some oversight of AP and AR including assistance with coding and budgeting; prepare bank reconciliations for multiple checking accounts.
  • Gather information for preparation of monthly lender construction draws; record funding and payment of related expenses.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data; assist Senior Accountant with gathering information required during annual audits.
  • Provide accounting support for purchase and sale transactions by reviewing financial information and converting data to general ledger system; obtain supplementary information from outside parties.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Senior Accountant and/or the Controller.
  • Stay current on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with the ability to foster good working relationships at every level of the company, possess excellent work ethic with the capacity to meet deadlines, and maintain excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.  Specific requirements the successful candidate will have include:

  • 2 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi software preferred, but not required.
  • Exposure to job cost accounting preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Network Support Specialist will manage and assist on all company technologies; hardware, software and training.  Maintain networks and support computer systems for senior technical staff on-site, via telephone and remotely. Escalate, make recommendations and report to senior staff on network and computer issues.

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure efficient use of network systems by managing, modifying, monitoring and reporting on usage
  • Place network systems into production
  • Perform routine network system maintenance
  • Manage backup solutions to ensure viability and reliability
  • Respond to computer system requests in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Assist in achieving objectives by gathering pertinent data, documenting issues, identifying and evaluating options and then recommending a course of action to senior staff
  • Engage in administrative support functions like purchasing, process documentation, shipping, mail and e-mail correspondence, document destruction, et al
  • Maintain client trust and confidence by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics and behavior

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience required
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience required
  • A+, MCP or equivalent experience required
  • MCSE or equivalent experience desired
  • Microsoft Windows server proficiency
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013, Microsoft SQL Server 2012
  • Server Backup Software Proficiency, Virtual Server technology proficiency
  • Proficiency in managing Firewalls, Wi-Fi, and switching infrastructure
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop OS proficiency
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center’s (ADAC) operations team, the Housekeeping & Maintenance Engineer maintains the care and upkeep, and custodial services of the grounds, building (all common areas, parking lots, showrooms, management office, as well as perimeter areas), loading dock, and maintenance truck.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
During a normal workday, the Housekeeping & Maintenance Engineer performs the following tasks three times a day (at 9:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 4:00 pm) using a checklist to ensure completion. When special events take place, these tasks may take place more frequently with other duties and responsibilities added in support of the operations team.

  • Using maintenance truck, pick-up all trash around perimeter of property, alleyways, and showrooms, load on truck, offload into open top containers and compactor in rear of the building.
  • Clear 8 catwalks (4 floors on east and west sides of building) of all trash from showrooms, load in trash cart, take to loading dock, place on truck, take to open tops and compactor, breakdown all large cardboard flats for recyclable container, recycling as much cardboard, paper, plastics as possible.
  • Ensure all wooden trash containers remain empty at ADAC West.
  • Keep rear lot around gravel parking areas clean and free of trash and debris.
  • Keep compactor fenced area clean and free of trash and debris.
  • Keep loading dock organized, clean, clear and free of trash and debris.
  • Empty all parking garage trash cans and remove all trash and debris around the trash cans.
  • Empty all front entrance trash cans and remove all trash and debris around the trash cans.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent with two years’ experience in housekeeping or maintenance. Experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of grounds equipment (i.e. leaf blower, mowers, shovels, etc.)

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ability to work and communicate well with operations team, the ADAC management team, ADAC showroom owners, vendors, contractors and utility companies.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to work effectively independently and willingly perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Courteous and effective team player with well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/ client service and response.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) and valid driver’s license for the duration of employment with company.
  • Regularly lifting 20-40 lbs., occasionally lifting 50-60 lbs., and infrequently lifting 100-250 lbs. with assistance from a team member.
  • Regularly lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and walking for long periods of time required.
  • As necessary, work may be performed in adverse weather conditions, such as rain, snow, extreme heat or cold.

THE ROLE

The Tenant Services Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the property management team. This role is responsible for answering phones, directing calls and maintaining office supplies and equipment, coordinating tenant service requests, processing accounts payables and invoices record management, assist with tenant move-ins, move-outs.  In addition, this role is responsible for coordinating tenant life/safety activities, assisting in the coordination of contractor and vendor activities at the property and insuring COI’s are current for all vendors & contractors accessing the buildings.

 

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will be an articulate, poised, and effective problem solver with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight.  S/he will have a Bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience) from a four-year college or university with 2 – 3 years of administrative experience (preferably in commercial real estate).  Specific to this the successful candidate will have:

 

  • Two to three years administrative experience.
  • Four-year college degree preferred or commensurate experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from tenants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to move about property utilizing stairs and lift up to 25 lbs.
