Jana Portman Simmons

Jana Portman Simmons is an Atlanta native with a deep commitment to community involvement and corporate leadership. She serves on the boards of Portman Holdings, the Skyland Trail Advisory Board, the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, and the Portman Foundation, contributing her expertise to a range of industries.
As President of Portman Financial, Jana brings a diverse background in merchandising, retail operations, and executive leadership. She earned a B.A. in religion from Sweet Briar College in 1982 before beginning her career as a merchandise buyer for Macy’s Department Store. She later became an entrepreneur, successfully owning and operating a women’s clothing and accessories boutique in Atlanta. Her expertise in retail and business development led her to a role in buyer relations for the California Gift Show, where she built strong industry connections and refined her leadership skills.
After dedicating several years to raising her family, Jana joined Portman Financial in 2013. She played a key role as an advisor to her father, John Portman, until his passing in 2017, and has since overseen his personal and collected artwork, development of his Foundation, and expansion of the Portman Family Office. Her strategic insight and business acumen have been instrumental in the company’s continued growth and success.
