John Gaskin
John brings deep experience in all facets of development, from site selection, entitlements and incentives to design, permitting, construction and leasing of industrial properties nationally. Over nearly 3 decades, John has participated in more than 150 development projects and led over $3 billion of acquisitions.
Prior to joining Portman, John was the Senior Vice President of Leasing and Build-to-Suit Development for the Robinson Weeks Partners, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was responsible for the leasing the Company’s speculative properties in the Southeast and Southwest and led the Company’s build-to-suit projects throughout the US. Previously, John served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Development for Duke Realty Corporation (NYSE:DRE). For nearly 19 years at Duke, he led the acquisition and development of logistics parks at major U.S. seaports and created expansion into national and global markets for the REIT. John previously served in leading roles with American Executive Developers, LLC., and Pure Development, where he acquired and developed industrial and office assets across the US.
John holds a BA degree from Indiana University and a JD degree from Indiana University School of Law. He is a member of the Georgia and Indiana Bar Associations. John is a regular volunteer at the Atlanta Men’s Homeless Shelter in Downtown Atlanta. He is also on the Board of Directors of Solidarity Sandy Springs Food Pantry.
