About Shanghai Centre
The Shanghai Centre comprises three towers along with a seven-story podium, collectively spanning two million square feet.
Launched in 1990, the complex was designed to cater to the burgeoning international business community in China during that period. Portman Holdings collaborated with AIG and Kajima Corporation on this pioneering project — the first foreign development in China following the country’s market liberalization in the 1980s.
The development features two serviced apartment towers, a Portman Ritz-Carlton hotel tower, a seven-story office and retail podium, an exhibition hall, and a 1,000-seat theater.
