About Taunton
Silver City Business Park is set to emerge on the grounds of the former Silver City Galleria, a super-regional shopping mall that ceased operations in 2020. The mall, after 29 years of service, was razed in 2021 due to a substantial decline in foot traffic and financial instability.
Initially, the Taunton Planning Board had greenlit a site plan for Fed Ex, which aimed to construct a 560,000-square-foot distribution center and an additional 74,500-square-foot building on the former shopping center site. However, this plan was eventually abandoned, and the property was subsequently acquired by Portman. The completed speculative industrial park will encompass four distinct warehouses, with sizes ranging from 74,500 to 486,720 square feet. The three larger warehouses will stand at a height of 55 feet, while the smallest will reach 47 feet.
Spanning 147 acres, the site is nestled in the Taunton sub-market of the broader Boston area, boasting direct access to highways that cater to the New England distribution corridor. The site also features upgraded infrastructure, including robust power capabilities, and an exclusive ramp connecting to the Route 140/Route 24 on-ramp.
