Michelle Barton
Michelle’s association with the Portman companies dates back to 1997 when she commenced her tenure with AMC, Inc., the operator of AmericasMart Atlanta. As Chief Financial Officer of AMC, Michelle assumed responsibility for a broad spectrum of functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury/debt management, lease administration, legal affairs, technology, and registration operations.
Prior to her role at AMC, Michelle held positions with New World Communications Group as Corporate Controller. Her career also includes valuable experience gained at Ernst & Young, where she specialized in assurance services for clients in the financial services and public sector domains.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems (MAS) from Southern New Hampshire University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, further demonstrating her expertise and commitment to excellence in the field of accounting and finance.
